Great day trip!
– Transport was well organised from the hotel. 10/ 15 mins late, but not a problem.
– The organisation at the port was very good, there was a different boat for each different language, i.e. English, Italian, French, Russian etc.
– The beach was very pretty, the sand was very nice and the water was very clear.
– The facilities on the beach were good, there was a nice bar and restaurant.
– The food was tasty, there was a good variety. Good drinks facilities.
– The snorkelling was fantastic, the snorkels and flippers were of good quality. There were professional divers with us who guided us around the corals.
– There were a lot of fish, different shapes and sizes
– We saw dolphins on the way to the island and on the way back
– There was a fantastic sunset which we saw on our boat trip back. This was the other thing which our guide sold!
A few improvements would be:
– Improve the sun bed quality. Was effectively a single mattress. There was no back
– The trip was sold as exclusive. It defo wasn’t exclusive, there were 7 boats full of people. It was sold as being more comfortable than the other islands. I’m not sure about this.

I got the opportunity to visit and snorkel offshore on this beautiful island while staying in Hurgada. We got a private transfer from our hotel In Hurgada to the beach club where we picked up a beautiful boat which took us to the island. It was a stunning boat trip each way lasting 55 minutes. The boat was not packed and there was plenty of room to sun bathe or just chill and relax in the shade. On arrival at the island , we transferred from the large boat to a smaller motor boat to bring us onshore. We picked up our snorkelling equipment, were given shaded sun beds and then took to the shallow waters to explore the snorkelling opportunities close to shore. After this we transferred back to larger boat for about 15 mins and were brought to much deeper water to snorkel among the coral and stunning marine life. This was very deep but there was excellent supervision and guidance from the professionals. A spotter speed boat accompanied us and was available to provide immediate assistance to anyone who got into trouble or just got tired. We spent about 45 mins in these deep waters before returning to the island for a very welcome lunch. There was a further opportunity to snorkel on the shallow waters, swim , sunbathe or walk on the beach before we departed for the leisurely boat trip back to mainland and a private transfer back to Hurgada. An amazing day!!!

I visited this Island during my last stay in Egypt (18-10-2023) with my best friend.
During the boattrip to the Island it was already clear by seeing the pictures in the internet that it would be a great place to stay , but after arriving i was completely surprised by the beauty of just everything … the amazing colour of the water , the way of how the island was decorated in style, the atmosphere which immediately surround me like a warm coat , the staff which was very thoughtful and personal by calling me by name , very professional , the food we ordered was very tasty and nice served , in the background relaxing music which made all very complete.
We also made a lot of beautiful pictures which i keep as precious memory , but for sure we will be back , no doubt about it !!
On our way back we enjoyed an amazing sunset on the boat which made that day unforgettable …
But better you go watch yourself and have an unforgettable addition to your holiday in beautiful Egypt

Once you ve been here, you always fancy to return.
I remember on my last visit here(i think i ve visited the island at least 8 Times) , Last November, we were only 3 tourists that visited Mahmya . Ok, for me was perfect, as I am very selfish, i like the Island just for myself, but i can only imagine that for Tourism was not very good. The Tourism in egypt lost about 50 billions dollars Last year due to the “actual situation.”
The sand storms in Valais and the snow in Alexandria 3 weeks ago, made me miss Mahmya and i felt i need to see Egypt soon.
That s why i ve booked 10 days in Hurghada, in my favorite hotel, Jaz Aquamarine.
Thing is, as much as I like the hotel and its amneties and kind personal(it s my 4 th visit in this hotel), during day time i need to be on Islands. That s why i ve booked Mahmya Beach(directly from this site, where the price is correct and fix(70 euro without Lunch, and 85 euro Lunch included:i advice you to take the second option), and 3 Times Orange bay. I Love Mahmya more, as it s more quiet, i really enjoy their music in The morning, i Love that the water is warmer during this period(egypt just got out from their winter, still the water is soup warm, i admit i really respect their personal, as they call me “Princess” (thank you, smile, smile), and I enjoy their food. Also, i find it the most Instagramable place in Hurghada so far.
The way back was impressive both times:first, i got to see a rainbow on The sky, and second:dolphins showed up, seeing them made me so sad to part, i ve remembered the words “a water so blue, wish i could live there”. But i cannot live în The water, nobody could so far.
So, i ve enjoyed my hours on The island as much as I could. I felt like in an endless summer during winter(as you might know, i live at 1600 m in The Swiss Mountains), which is heaven, but sometimes i really miss the sea, the sands, and the beautiful hectic în Dahar. Smile smile

We booked the mahmya island cruise through our Hurghada ToGo rep. I must say it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish.
The boats was separated into languages so English together, polish together, french together etc. We had an English tour guide Mo who was so lovely and friendly. He explained the itinerary and what was going to happen through out the day. We got to see some dolphins which was just amazing, once on the island we went snorkelling (hire the equipment for free) and it was fantastic. There was an option to go back onto the boat and do some deep sea snorkelling but we didn’t fancy that. Buffet dinner was served on the island and it was lovely all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Young children was on board and joined in so when we come back with the kids we will definitely be doing this again.

We took a trip to Mahmya with Hurghada ToGo via booked by the rep in our hotel. We were a little dubious as to how the day was going to turn out as our journey to the island felt a little like we were being herded like sheep. However all was forgotten when we arrived, this place is truly beautiful and I would encourage everyone to go. Part of the day was a snorkelling trip around a nearby reef, we were amazed as 2 dolphins swam through the middle of our group. Food at the restaurant was very good considering and soft drinks were free. However you are requested to give a tip and the people on the island really deserve it. The boat trip returning to Hurghada was great as we watched the sunset. Great day, well worth the money.

Me and my partner did this trip in June. The journey to the island on board boat is lovely, you arrive at the island and get to relax on mattresses in the shade or sun, the beach is just perfect with crystal clear water, you have option to go back on boat to snorkel or stay on island which we did. The reefs there are amazing to snorkel and the water is shallow so perfect for the kids, so many different fish, even saw a lion fish. The facilities are beautiful, lunch is on the island, which is buffet style the food is amazing and plenty to choose from. They even cooked chips and chicken nuggets for the kids. Soft drinks are available during lunch there is also a bar to buys drinks from. This is truly amazing place

We booked our trip through Hurghada ToGo before we arrived for our holiday, £82 per person. We got up early (6:30am) to have breakfast before catching the coach at 7:40. After a half hour bus ride we arrived and were seperated into different countries, intorduced to our guide. We had British and Germans on our boat. We settled onto the boat and headed off for the 45 minute ride to the island. On arriving to the island a smaller boat carried us to the island. When we arrived most people queued for snorkeling equipment, we bought our own. It is recommend to use a life jacket as it’s supposed to make it easier to concentrate on snorkeling and not worrying about treading water. We were lead to our section of the sunbeds, where we left our belongings before being shown where toilets and food and drink would be. Lunch was included with drinks but I would recommend that you get the packed lunch from your hotel as this would include water. Other drinks on the island come at a cost. Back at the sunbeds, we were then asked to wait till an allocated time, when we went back to the boat and be taken to the side of the island where we got into the sea for group snorkeling. The sea is very clean and so many different coral, fish and reefs. They are beautiful, but we’ve seen better..We spent around 45 minutes snorkling and it was reassuring that they had a boat following, in case someone got into difficulties. A few people were rescued and conveyed to the boat.
Once we returned to the island, there was a nice buffet lunch with meats, chicken, salads and rice with all you can drink soft drinks. We then had around 3 hours free time on the beach and snorkling off the shallow beach Certainly the wearing of sand shoes is recommended as the rock in the sea are coral and very sharp. to wear sea shoes ours were a god send as there is alot of rocks and coral which are sharp. Around 3:30pm, we were taken back too the boat for the ride back to the marina, arriving back at uour hotel at 5pm, just in time for a shower before dinner.
Our guide (aka Chief) was knowledgible and helpful throughout our trip, fimally making sure that we all got on the correct coaches to our hotels.

This place is Paradise! We booked with Hurghada ToGo and everything went smoothly! We got on the Island and we got the snorkelling kit straight away, then we had an hour or so to explore the island and test out our snorkelling kit in the Sea before getting a small boat back to the main boat which took us to the Coral to see the fishes!
Afterwards the buffet was ready for us, food was ok, nothing special but plenty of it after a good day out in the Sea! The iced coffee at the bar was delicious 😊 One small tip – bring Egyptian money with you, they don’t seem to take Euro or English Pound here (they do but struggle to find change)
Book this trip if you want a relaxing adventure, bring your beach stuff (towels,suncream,book etc) and put your feet up and relax.

I booked this trip through my Travel Rep at Hurghada ToGo. They use the local Sherif Tours travel company to run their trips.
We were collected from our resort on time and taken to the Marina where we boarded the boats. We were separated into ‘spoken language’ groups, the guides were fluent in English, French and German.
As we arrived at the island I could see there were two distinct sections, one had a big PARADISE sign – we were **not** in that area – and our area had a big MAHMYA sign at the top of the hill.
We were shown to our reserved seating area under the shade and given our snorkelling and lunch times.
The guides were super friendly and got everyone where they needed to be at the right time.
The snorkelling was amazing. So many fish, and the sea was so warm.
Lunch was ok, nothing fancy but it filled a hole after lots of swimming.
We left the island about 6pm and sailed back during the sunset.
We then were dropped off back at our resort.
Make sure you take plenty of drinking water with you, and some snacks if you need food before 3pm.
