The most perfect Day Trip from Hurghada to see the Pyramids.
I don’t usually write reviews however since we were worried where to book this trip to see the pyramids safely I thought it would be helpful.
We chose HurghadaToGo as what we thought would be the safest option and the trip was made through Ashraf at HurghadaToGo.
We got picked up at our hotel at 4am by a really friendly rep who took us to Hurghada Airport, gave us our flight tickets and showed us exactly where to go.
Then at Cairo we were met by Mina (our tour guide) and one other couple from Germany who were on the same trip.
All day we had a great mini bus and really friendly driver who also looked after us.
Mina (also known as M&M) was the real star of the show. I really cannot thank him enough for sharing his passion and knowledge not only for the pyramids but for the whole of Egypt with its colourful culture and Ancient history. He really made sure not a single second of the day was wasted.
Mina while on the bus explained loads of really interesting stuff on every part of all connecting journeys and explained all of our choices throughout the day so that we could tailor it for ourselves. I could talk for hours as the day was so amazing but I will summarise our day.
0400 pickup at hotel
0600 flight from Hurghada
0800 picked up and got tour of Cairo including a boat trip on the Nile which was only £12/€12/$12 what ever you had. (We had the option not to do this but it was well worth it)
0900 Cairo museum – you could stay here for months and not see everything but during our two hour visit Mina made sure we seen all the most important exhibits and explained in detail why.
1130 A tour to see how papyrus paper is made and a chance to buy really nice personal souvenirs (we felt no obligation to buy at all and were offered refreshments free of charge during the demonstration)
1200 Free Lunch, you only pay for drinks which are same price as back home. Lunch was buffet style and really tasty.
1300 Trip to the pyramids ( again we had options of what to do here and how much it would cost us and if Mina felt it was worth it. We chose to walk round the pyramids getting shown things you’d have walked passed and thought nothing of and then had a camel ride to a high point where we got some great photos of us on the camel with the 9 pyramids behind us. This only cost £10 per camel and Mina told us only a £1 tip would be received gratefully by the camel owner.
1500 Trip to the Sphinx and another walk through and explanation of why everything was built the way it was and the purpose it served to the passing of the Pharo towards his final resting place inside the pyramid.
And again as with every other part of the day Mina made sure he got us to the perfect photo platform and took loads and loads of pictures we will cherish forever.
1600 We finished the day off at a perfume making shop where again free refreshments ( coffee is amazing) and another interesting demonstration of how perfume etc is made…can’t stress enough how there is no hard sell the demonstration is really enjoyable and informative ( just shows how we usually get ripped off back home buying these products)
1700 Back to the Airport where we felt really sorry to say goodbye to our driver and wonderful tour guide Mina who must have got us through about an hour’s worth of ques at the airport as he is so well known.
The whole day felt extremely safe I can’t stress that enough, no one even came near us to try and sell us things in the street as our guide would just give them a polite nod away. We got through any crowds we came across with ease and just had the best day ever. The German couple we shared the day with were also really friendly and great company for us and Mina could speak German to them when required but they also spoke perfect English. Thanks to them too as our day was richer having them there.
We were told the maximum amount of people on this tour would be 6 which really makes the day personal. The price for the whole tour was also as reasonable as we could find anywhere else and we were told not to tip anyone until the end of the day if we chose to which took a stress out of worrying about that as well.
Mina if you ever read this review please accept our heartfelt thanks and thanks you for helping me catch my crocodile 😊. Take care my friend!
Salam Alaikum

We had a wonderful trip with HurghadaToGo. It started with airport pickup. I was looking for a travel company who can help us to visit pyramids, museum, Nile review cruise, Memphis, Sakara and Dahshur. HurghadaToGo came back asking if we want to plan a trip for us as per our requirement. They arranged a customised plan for us. They arranged a van from airport pickup, trip for one and half day and drop to airport.
Guide was very knowledgeable. She explained things beautifully.
Overall it was an exceptionally well experience Travelling with HurghadaToGo.

Well organized trip
We were picked up from the hotel on time and taken to the airport. The booking was made in advance and it was a well-organized trip. In Cairo we were met by the tour guide (M&M) and he accompanied us the whole time and was able to tell us a lot about the history of Egypt and Cairo. The tour on the Nile with a different view of the skyline was impressive (extra charge 10€ per person). The visit to the Egyptian Museum was nice and the exhibits were well explained by M&M. Of course, the visit to the pyramids and the Sphinx was very impressive and overwhelming. At the end we were transferred back to Cairo airport and were told where to go.
Conclusion: Very well organized and everything worked smoothly.
You can book an excursion with HurghadaToGo with confidence.

At exactly 4:45 a.m. we were picked up at the hotel in Hurghada by a driver and companion and driven to the airport in Hurghada. They gave us the flight plan and, strangely, an envelope with cash, which we were supposed to give to the tour guide in Cairo. We felt a little uncomfortable doing this, but that’s probably normal.
After checking in at the airport, we received our flight ticket, went through security and waited at the gate for the Egypt Air plane. We set off at 6:30 a.m. and after about an hour of flying we were already in Cairo.
At the airport in Cairo, after leaving the building, our tour guide (Mina) greeted us and took the envelope with the cash. We then went straight to the Egyptian Museum in a car and a driver. Since there were only two of us, we had a personal German-speaking tour guide.
In the Egyptian Museum, the tour guide showed us around and explained a lot about the individual artifacts.
From the museum we went to the Nile. A small boat was waiting for us there for a Nile cruise. This cruise lasted about 30 minutes.
Then we went to lunch (buffet), which was included in the price. We had to pay for the drinks we ordered. We enjoyed it. From the roof of the restaurant you could see and photograph the pyramids of Giza for the first time.
After lunch we went to Giza to see the pyramids. The tour guide told us a lot and was able to answer all of our questions.
We were then offered the opportunity to see the inside of the largest pyramid. This costs about €18 per person (900 Egyptian pounds) extra. We were able to pay for the tickets directly at a machine by card. We are very happy that we did this. It was something very special and an absolute highlight. We went up through narrow corridors to the burial chamber. It was very warm and stuffy in the pyramid, but it was definitely worth it.
As a further highlight, we were offered a camel ride or a carriage ride, which would take us to a higher vantage point from which you have the best view of all six pyramids. We opted for the camel ride (€10 per person). We paid for this directly in cash in euros. The camel ride lasted around 30 minutes and from the elevation we had a wonderful view of all six pyramids at the same time. The camel driver also made a special effort to take a few beautiful and original photos with our camera.
From the pyramids we drove to the Sphinx. There we were also able to take lots of photos and buy souvenirs from the small stalls. The tour guide even helped us negotiate the price.
The official day’s program was over. Since we still had enough time, our tour guide offered us a stop at an oil and fragrance manufacturer. Once we got there, we were given cold drinks and shown various oils and fragrances. Of course, there is no obligation to buy anything. We still treated ourselves to a few oils.
Then we went back to the airport. We arrived at the airport at 6:00 p.m. and according to the flight plan that was given to us in the morning, our return flight was due to depart at 9:05 p.m. Unfortunately, this flight was not listed on the display board in the airport. The flight with the corresponding flight number did not depart until 10:00 p.m. So we unfortunately had to wait until 10:00 p.m. for the return flight with Air Cairo. We arrived back in Hurghada at 11:00 p.m.
We were picked up outside the airport and driven back to the hotel.
We were at the hotel at 11:30 p.m.
We can highly recommend the tour, as it was the best way for us to finally fulfill our dream and see the pyramids and the Sphinx.
It was a shame, of course, that we had to wait a bit long for the return flight.
We never felt unsafe during this day tour; the safety of tourists is very important in Egypt.
We were able to buy drinks from the driver for a small fee. We paid in euros.
You should always have change in euros or dollars with you, for going to the toilet or if you want to buy something small. The tickets for the camel ride or the carriage ride can be paid for in cash in euros.

As a couple, we found and reserved the tour online before our trip.
I had a few questions in advance about the tour and payment. Ahmed Diaa was there to help and advise me via WhatsApp.
At first I was a little unsure about the 100% advance payment. But in retrospect, this turned out to be a total no-brainer. I can now understand that advance payments are required.
Often, things just cancel, etc.
All questions about the tour, including the exact procedure, were explained to me in advance via WhatsApp.
We were picked up from the hotel to the airport in a new minibus. The pick-up time was also communicated to me via WhatsApp.
There were 5 of us in total. It was a very pleasant and almost family-like atmosphere. That is a major difference to the mass tourism that other providers also offer.
The driver already had our plane tickets.
He explained to us the procedure at the airport with check-in etc.
Check-in went smoothly with the curbs.
At the airport in Cairo, our tour guide was already waiting for us at the exit of the airport.
A very friendly man who spoke excellent German. No gibberish like we heard from other tour guides from other groups.
We took a Cairo city tour and a walk through the old town before the museum opened.
In the museum, our guide explained all the important topics of history in detail. When we had questions, he answered our questions and was able to explain everything satisfactorily.
After all the theory, we went to eat in a restaurant. The food was good. The price of the buffet was already included in the ticket price. However, the drinks had to be paid for separately. However, both our tour guide and our guide told us this information in advance. So there were no nasty surprises here.
The highlight of the meal was of course the view of the pyramids from the window. Here our guide was able to reserve a nice table with a view of the pyramids.
After our meal and a boat trip on the Nile, we came to the pyramids. Here we had enough time to ask questions, take pictures and generally move around a bit freely.
Our guide also warned us about the sellers. He told us what tip was appropriate here, even if more was asked for.
We were also able to book camel rides and a carriage ride at the pyramids. Our guide negotiated for our group.
After we had visited all 3 pyramids, we drove to the Sphinx. Here we had a little more free time for photos, sightseeing, etc. at our request.
In general, our guide always showed us the best photo spots.
We experienced so many beautiful things on this tour that I’m sure I forgot to mention a few things.
But I can only recommend that anyone who is a little skeptical read more reviews.
In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is unbeatable. Comparable offers cost many times more.
So if you want an individual tour without mass tourism, then the tour is highly recommended.
